This downloadable knitting pattern features the twelve Lunar Zodiac animals, a prominent cultural tradition in several Asian cultures. The full 12-year cycle is represented with each year attributed to an animal associated with symbolic qualities.

The pattern includes charted motifs for all twelve animals, designed to be knit as ornament balls. Most motifs measure approximately 15 stitches high by 18 stitches wide. (Resulting in a finished ornament that is slightly larger than our Holiday Ornament pattern). We have also included charts for the English alphabet as part of this package to add initials to panels, if desired.

These ornaments are ideal for seasonal decorating, gift-giving, or creating meaningful keepsakes year after year. Knit a single animal to mark the birth year of someone special in your life, and add other designs to the remaining 3 panels created by each ball.
